This attorney will work directly with the Chief of Litigation and a nationally recognized trial attorney in a second-chair capacity on high-exposure defense matters. This position requires a self-starter who can independently analyze case files, identify key issues, aggressively manage discovery, and help drive litigation strategy. You will work closely with senior trial counsel handling high-stakes defense matters, helping prepare cases for trial while managing significant portions of the litigation process. Responsibilities: Serve as second chair supporting a senior trial attorney on complex insurance defense matters Review case materials and analyze liability, damages, and litigation strategy Manage and respond to written discovery and document production Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and legal briefs Assist with trial preparation, witness preparation, and case strategy Prepare detailed client and carrier reports Coordinate with experts and assist in case development Handle court appearances and manage litigation deadlines Ideal Background: 5–10 years of insurance defense litigation experience Strong background handling high-exposure or complex defense matters Experience managing discovery and depositions independently Prior trial preparation or second-chair trial experience preferred Ability to analyze complex litigation and identify key legal and factual issues Experience communicating with insurance carriers and clients Strong writing, analytical, and case management skills Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania Interested in hearing more?
