We are seeking a highly driven and hands‑on Controller to lead accounting operations within a fast‑growing, multi‑entity healthcare organization. This role requires a strong leader who can take ownership of financial reporting, ensure regulatory compliance, and build scalable processes in a dynamic environment.
The ideal candidate brings deep healthcare accounting experience, a strong understanding of reimbursement models, and the ability to partner closely with executive leadership to drive financial performance and operational efficiency. This is a high‑impact role suited for someone who can quickly step in, assess gaps, and implement structure while leading a high‑performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies
Healthcare Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
Ensure compliance with Medicaid, Medicare, and state‑specific healthcare regulations
Support financial audits, reimbursement audits, and third‑party reviews
Maintain accurate documentation for billing integrity and cost reporting
Collaborate with operations to align revenue cycle, billing, and financial reporting
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
Set clear expectations, performance metrics, and accountability standards
Foster a culture of accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement
Strategic Finance & Business Support
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Provide variance analysis and actionable financial insights
Partner with leadership on growth initiatives, acquisitions, and expansion
Identify cost‑saving opportunities and operational efficiencies
Process Improvement & Systems Optimization
Design and enhance internal controls and financial workflows
Drive ERP system improvements and automation initiatives
Improve cross‑functional processes across accounting and revenue cycle
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial positioning
Manage banking relationships and support debt compliance
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
CPA certification required
7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
Minimum 3–5 years of leadership or supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting standards (ASC 606, ASC 842)
Proven experience in healthcare accounting (home health, hospice, or related sectors preferred)
Solid understanding of Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement and revenue cycle processes
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel skills
Experience supporting audits and regulatory compliance
