Business and Government Relationship Development Officer

Residents Medical, Los Angeles, CA, United States

Business & Government Development Officer

About Us

We are a mission-driven alliance of three organizations working at the intersection of medical education, workforce development, and philanthropic impact. ResidentsMedical.com prepares the next generation of physicians for residency. EdYou.com delivers scalable educational technology solutions. The Everest Family Foundation funds equitable access to medical training and healthcare pathways. Together, we are building a first-of-its-kind funding and partnership engine to expand residency programs, support underserved medical students, and create lasting infrastructure for physician pipeline development across the country.
The Role

We are seeking a driven, well-connected Business & Government Development Officer to serve as the revenue and relationships engine across all three organizations. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of healthcare, education, government, and philanthropy — and knows how to turn relationships into resources.
What You'll Do

Identify, pursue, and close federal, state, and local government contracts related to medical education, workforce development, and residency training
Research and apply for grants from federal agencies (HHS, HRSA, DoD, NIH), foundations, and private funders aligned with our mission
Build and manage strategic relationships with hospital systems, GME offices, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), and academic medical centers
Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the Everest Family Foundation, including major donor cultivation, institutional giving, and capital campaigns
Represent all three organizations at healthcare conferences, government forums, and education summits
Partner with executive leadership to create compelling pitch decks, grant proposals, and partnership agreements
Track pipeline activity, grant deadlines, and funding milestones using CRM tools
Identify sponsorship and co-investment opportunities with healthcare staffing firms, insurance companies, and healthcare technology providers
What We're Looking For

5+ years of experience in business development, government affairs, nonprofit fundraising, or healthcare administration
Proven track record securing government contracts, grants, or major institutional funding
Deep knowledge of graduate medical education (GME), MATCH process, or physician workforce landscape strongly preferred
Existing relationships with HRSA, CMS, state health departments, or congressional offices is a strong plus
Experience writing or managing federal grant applications (NOFO, RFP, cooperative agreements)
Strong written and verbal communication — you can translate mission into money
Self-directed and entrepreneurial; comfortable building systems from scratch
Bachelor's degree required; Master’s in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Public Policy, or related field preferred
What We Offer

Competitive base salary + performance-based commission/bonus structure
Mission-driven growth across three organizations
Direct access to executive leadership and real decision-making authority
Opportunity to shape a national model for residency access and physician pipeline development
If you are a connector, builder, and mission-aligned operator who can open doors and close deals in the healthcare and government space — we want to hear from you.
Send your resume and a brief note on your most impactful funding win to w.cano@residentsmedical.com
