Production Operator
We are hiring for the Production Operator position at PPG in Strongsville, OH.
Starting pay is $22.51 per hour, plus $0.65 for the 2nd shift and $0.78 for the 3rd shift differential per hour. A $1000 sign‑on bonus is available.
Shifts:
Evening (2nd) – Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.
Night (3rd) – Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 pm to 7:30 am.
Responsibilities
The position involves blending (premixing) batches, running extruders, filling product into shipping containers and sampling, 5S cleaning, measuring, and producing raw materials to manufacture industrial coatings.
Assemble and disassemble production equipment for cleaning between products while following Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
Preassembly procedures include weighing materials for production batches and following preassembly weigh‑up sheet instructions.
Prepare materials and product for packaging and shipment to customers.
Work in a production environment with the appropriate safety procedures in place.
Qualifications
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the day.
Prior powder coating experience is preferred; candidates with 3‑5 years prior manufacturing or light industrial production experience may also be considered.
Tow motor/forklift experience preferred or ability to obtain a license.
Ability to learn to operate large pieces of powder manufacturing equipment (extruders and grinders).
Ability to work independently without close supervision.
Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced work environment.
Ability to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) when required, including gloves, steel‑toed boots, safety goggles, safety hat, and respirator.
Willingness to work any job and to work overtime as needed.
