SkillBridge Intern (Transitioning Military Service Members-2026) - Training

INTRODUCTION
General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) is a proud and approved DoD SkillBridge Industry Partner. SkillBridge offers an excellent opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last six months of service, up to 180 days.
ELIGIBILITY
Have 180 days of service or fewer remaining prior to your date of discharge and you have at least 180 continuous days of active service.
Obtain written authorization and approval from your unit commander to participate in the DoD SkillBridge Program prior to the start of the internship.
Will receive an honorable discharge.
Have completed any service TAPS/TGPS.
Agree that participation in SkillBridge can be terminated at any time by the service if mission requirements dictate.
OPPORTUNITIES
Training Development Specialist
OBJECTIVE
Participants will receive on‑the‑job training and job‑shadowing opportunities in our Training Development area. Interns will be involved in day‑to‑day activities, learning GDLS leadership expectations, company history, customer and stakeholder engagement, product and service overviews, and core job responsibilities.
GOAL
Offer transitioning service members a rewarding opportunity to learn from the GDLS team and to develop skills that will be valuable in their civilian careers.
If you are an Abrams or Bradley Master Gunner who is eligible for a SkillBridge Internship, we would love to hear from you.
This internship will be located at our Sterling Heights, Michigan complex and will be 100% in person.
Participants are not eligible for compensation from GDLS, as they continue to receive DoD compensation and benefits as active‑duty service members. Service members receive supervision and mentorship from experienced professionals in their respective fields and are included as part of the team within the department.
