Overview

The Maintenance Technician at Lexington Premier Nursing and Rehab plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of our skilled nursing facility. This position involves performing routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, equipment, and grounds to maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment for residents and staff.
Work Environment

This position requires working both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to various environmental conditions. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, as needed.
Responsibilities

Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of the facility’s systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Preventive Maintenance: Perform tasks according to established schedules; maintain, clean, and repair carpets to ensure high-quality appearance and longevity.
Repairs: Diagnose and repair issues related to electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems. Address problems promptly to minimize disruptions.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and facility policies. Perform safety checks and address hazards immediately.
Emergency Response: Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed, including after-hours calls. Prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact on resident safety and comfort.
Vendor Coordination: Assist with coordinating external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or services. Ensure work meets facility standards and requirements.
Equipment Maintenance: Oversee upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good condition and properly stored.
Facility Upkeep: Assist with general facility maintenance tasks, including landscaping, painting, and minor construction projects. Support other departments as needed.
Communication: Collaborate with facility management and staff to identify and address maintenance needs. Provide clear and timely communication regarding the status of maintenance requests and repairs.
Qualifications

Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Formal training or certification in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in a maintenance role, especially in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting, is highly desirable.
