RF Design Engineer – SoC
Octagon Group, Phoenix, AZ, United States
An exciting opportunity with a
specialist semiconductor design house
known for developing high-performance RF and mixed-signal SoC solutions used in advanced communications, sensing, and defense-related applications.
This is a
hands-on, system-level role
focused on RFSoC timing, synchronization, and validation, ideal for an engineer who enjoys working across the boundaries of RF, analog, and digital integration to ensure high-performance silicon delivery.
The Opportunity
You’ll join a highly technical, close-knit engineering team working on complex RFSoC platforms. The environment is fast-paced and innovation-driven, with real ownership across the design lifecycle and exposure to cutting-edge architectures.
Key Responsibilities
Define and validate system timing and synchronization across RFSoC subsystems (PLL, ADC, DAC, and digital processing blocks)
Ensure accurate clock distribution and phase alignment across multi-channel architectures
Support synchronization of parallelized ADC/DAC data paths, including down-sampling and decimation chains
Contribute to system-level validation, ensuring robust performance across integrated RF and mixed-signal blocks
Collaborate closely with design teams to solve complex integration and timing challenges
What We’re Looking For
Experience working on RFSoC or mixed-signal SoC design, with a focus on timing and validation
Strong understanding of clocking, synchronization, and multi-channel system architectures
Experience with Cadence tools (e.g. Tempus, Quantus) or equivalent toolsets
Background working with ADCs, DACs, PLLs, or similar high-speed mixed-signal components
Comfortable operating at system level, bridging RF, analog, and digital domains
Additional Info
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (ITAR/EAR requirements)
On-site role in Tempe, AZ, working closely with a highly experienced IC design team
Strong opportunity for technical ownership and progression within a growing, high-impact business
If you’re looking to deepen your expertise in RFSoC systems and take ownership of complex timing and synchronization challenges, this is a standout opportunity within a highly specialized semiconductor environment.
