Litigation Paralegal - Intellectual Property
World‑class Oakland County law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their dynamic team.

In this role, the Litigation Paralegal will provide support for the Litigation Department and Senior Litigation Paralegal on a variety of litigation and administrative needs. The Paralegal will assume a role in Intellectual Property matters (Patent, Trademark, Trade Secret, and Copyright).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with all aspects of discovery and litigation process; preparing documents for filing in Federal and State courts, the U.S. Patent Office and Patent and Trial Appeal Board; cite‑checking briefs; reviewing and preparing documents for production; maintaining and organizing documents; docketing and preparing calendar deadlines as well as assisting with all aspects of pre‑trial and trial preparation.

Essential Functions

Assists in organizing electronic information and updates.

Assists in preparing materials needed for depositions, hearings and trials.

Assists in document collection.

Organizes and indexes incoming and outgoing documentation produced.

Reviews documentation on the firm’s eDiscovery platform and prepares for production.

Assists in preparation of pleadings to be filed with Federal and State Courts, the U.S. Patent Office and the U.S. Patent and Trial Appeal Board.

Provides back up support to docketing paralegal.

Provides support to the litigation attorneys and senior paralegal as needed.

Requirements

1‑3 years litigation or general paralegal experience.

Experience with docketing preferred.

Experience with document review platforms preferred (Everlaw, Relativity).

Experience with document management systems preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Ability to adhere to strict time deadlines (nights and weekends sometimes required).

Excellent time management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Researching/problem‑solving skills.

Willingness and desire to learn.

Strong work ethic.
