Role Overview
The firm is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant with 2–3 years of experience to support its Workers’ Compensation team. While specific experience in Workers' Comp is ideal, the firm will strongly consider candidates with a solid background in Personal Injury. This role is a perfect fit for a proactive assistant who enjoys managing the logistics of a legal case and ensuring that attorneys are fully prepared for hearings, mediations, and depositions.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management: Assist attorneys with the lifecycle of workers' compensation claims, ensuring all deadlines are tracked and met.
Document Preparation: Draft and proofread legal correspondence, pleadings, and discovery documents.
Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, medical evaluations, and hearings.
File Maintenance: Maintain electronic and physical files, ensuring all medical records and evidence are organized and accessible.
Communication: Serve as a professional point of contact for clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of consistent experience in Workers’ Compensation or Personal Injury law.
Education: A College Degree is strongly preferred.
Reliability: Excellent professional references are required.
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software; exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
Logistics: Must live within a 30-mile radius of the Raleigh office for reasonable commuting on in‑office days.
