CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer to monitor, maintain, and repair building system operations onsite in Tualatin. This role supports engineering and technical services functions by providing preventive maintenance, repairs, and system performance oversight.
What You’ll Do
Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems, keeping facility and building systems at applicable standards.
Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
Maintain an energy management program, ensuring all systems operate most efficiently.
Assist with implementing a preventive maintenance program to meet or exceed equipment rated life; perform emergency repairs as needed.
Follow departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials and maintain a clean, safe workplace.
Review inspections of building systems such as fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation within design capabilities and client-prescribed environmental conditions.
Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own discipline and broader knowledge of several disciplines within the function.
Lead by example, model CBRE RISE values, build consensus, and convince others to reach agreement.
Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and related teams.
Work within broad guidelines and policies.
Explain difficult or sensitive information clearly.
What You’ll Need
High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job‑related experience; or a combination of experience and education.
Universal CFC certification preferred; other certifications/licenses required by local or state jurisdictions.
Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift or carry heavy loads of 50 lbs or more.
Ability to exercise judgment from analysis of multiple information sources.
Willingness to consider new perspectives on existing solutions.
In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Strong organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
Proficient in basic mathematics, including percentages, fractions, and financial calculations.
