Job Description
Industrial Engineer for the Anniston Vehicle Assembly Center (AVAC) site in Anniston, AL.
First shift 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
Responsibilities
Establish methods for maximum utilization of facilities and personnel.
Reduce waste, rework, and cycle times.
Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, and the purchase/lease/maintenance of equipment.
Design facility layouts that align with the plan and vision for safe delivery.
Collaborate with various internal departments that include Program Management, Production Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Facilities, Purchasing, Finance, and Operations to develop a world class manufacturing facility.
Ability to create a process improvement roadmap for assigned value stream focusing on lead time and cycle time reductions.
Engage in regular communications with production support, planning, logistics, quality, manufacturing supervisors, Safety, and direct labor workforce to assess operations performance.
Summarize and present findings to internal customers to gain buy-in for improvement efforts.
Discuss the status of metrics and key performance indicators with Site Leadership.
Lead projects outside of day-to-day scope to drive facility strategic initiatives.
Work on the manufacturing floor with other Engineering disciplines, production supervisors, and operation team members that directly interact with the components or vehicles being produced.
This role requires regular presence in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. The incumbent must be able to access and safely navigate production areas which may include climbing, kneeling, stooping, and working in confined spaces. Must also be able to comply with all requirements including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policy.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. More experienced candidates may be considered for a more senior role.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite products (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, etc.).
Effective written and spoken communication skills.
Experience working with current computer applications and CAD programs.
Comfortable soliciting input through face-to-face interaction and demonstrating strong analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills that support individual and team growth.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Project management experience in a relevant manufacturing environment.
Experience with developing cost-benefit analysis, ROI and estimating production standards.
Experience with model manipulation.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $64,935 - $110,390.
