This position reports to:
Chapter Lead .
This role
offers the opportunity to contribute to ABB’s success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as part of a Research & Development (R&D) team. The work model for the role is:
Hybrid . This role is contributing to the
Panelboards chapter, primarily supporting the Develop & Care Lighting Panels Agile Team
in
Bloomfield, CT .
Responsibilities
Design, development, and manufacturing implementation of engineering programs that meet business standards and program / product requirements, including functional, cost, reliability, manufacturability, and safety requirements.
Understanding and applying relevant processes, standards, guidelines, and requirements, including architectural and design constraints.
Execute designs with solid modeling software (PTC Creo / Windchill) to create models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and BOMs for designs which may include plastic, stamped metal, and electrically conductive parts.
Driving the achievement of assigned targets (quality, time, scope, cost) and raising and addressing risks.
Contributing to the continuous improvement of the chapter, including to the improvement or development of new capabilities, skills, technical knowledge, performance, and/or culture.
Qualifications
BS Mechanical Engineering or similar educational background
2+ years of experience in R&D or a related field
Experience in mechanical design (including 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation using PTC Creo or similar tools) and engineering analysis
Able to travel domestically & internationally on an occasional basis
Valid US work authorization and must not require sponsorship for an employment visa by ABB at any time in the future
