What You'll Do
Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients
Serve as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit needs
Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management
Safely administer medications according to UHS policies
Support effective resource utilization, including staffing, time, and supplies
Comply with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies
Participate in Nursing Shared Governance, Unit Council, and improvement initiatives
Contribute to peer review, evidence‐based practice, and quality improvement
Provide support and guidance to new employees and students
Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator responsibilities when assigned
Engage in ongoing professional development, continuing education, and mandatory training
Participate in the Clinical Ladder Program as your expertise grows

Education & Experience
Minimum Required:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
Licensure & Certifications
Minimum Required:
Current New York State Registered Nurse License
Preferred:
CCRN certification
Additional skills certifications as required (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC)
Work Environment
Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are air conditioned and heated.
Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.
Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies.
