Hiring Concrete Finishers / Laborers
Location:
Des Moines, Iowa
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7am - 5pm
Job Overview:
Looking to find experienced commercial concrete finishers & laborers to assist with various commercial projects, including parking lots, parking garages, foundations, and walls. Responsibilities will include moving materials, laying concrete blankets, shoveling concrete, and finishing and forming curbs. The role requires following behind a paver and using a shovel and or broom to move and smooth concrete.
Responsibilities
Move materials, lay concrete blankets, and shovel concrete.
Finish and form curbs for commercial projects.
Follow behind a paver and use a shovel and/or a broom to move and smooth concrete.
Push, pull, and drag equipment with a team member in concrete for 8+ hour days.
Essential Skills
1+ year outdoor labor experience in construction, roofing, landscaping, or similar fields.
1+ year experience pouring foundation walls, parking garages, commercial sidewalks, or parking lots.
Ability to take directions, listen, and execute tasks as instructed.
Ability to lift 80+ lbs and work 60+ hours a week, including Saturdays.
Qualifications
Commercial concrete experience is required.
Paving experience, pouring, and forming curbs are preferred.
Ability to build a curb is a plus.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range:
$20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Work Environment
You will work in a construction environment as part of a Mainline crew of 15 people or a Handwork crew of 10 people. The role involves outside construction work with concrete, which can be dirty. Typical start times are at 6:30 am or 7 am, with workdays lasting 10-12 hours, weather permitting. Flexibility is crucial, as employment may be affected by inclement weather, requiring patience during rain delays.
