Senior Accountant

to join our growing team in

St. Petersburg, FL !

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting and assisting the General Ledger Finance Team in leading and delivering financial accounting results for Arrowhead Specialty Center of Excellence. The role will focus on executing various aspects of financial accounting, including monthly close, preparing journal entries, account analysis, reporting, and account reconciliation activities, in accordance with established policy, procedures and objectives.

Responsibilities

Lead and support staff accountants.

Perform full-cycle month-end close functions in accounting software systems.

Run monthly close reporting.

Complete monthly, quarterly, and yearly journal entries, including reviewing and approving journal entries.

Reconcile balance sheet and other accounts monthly and as needed.

Review and approve balance sheet and bank reconciliations.

Create financial reports based on data analytics.

Support and manage interactions with internal and external auditors.

Ensure all transaction support documentation is processed, maintained, and filed accurately and timely.

Prepare and submit documents as required by established internal controls.

Build courteous and effective relationships with office staff to maintain efficient practices.

Promote teamwork, knowledge sharing, support, and a positive attitude within the department and office.

Participate in training opportunities to remain current on industry information, new product development, legislation, coverage, technology, and professional development, including continuing education.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Licenses and Certifications

Pursuing a CPA designation or equivalent certification. (preferred)

Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working knowledge of financial accounting.

Proficiency in data entry and data management.

Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office environment, including Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Four to seven years of full-cycle general ledger accounting experience. (preferred)

Experience with Workday Financials. (preferred)

Insurance brokerage experience. (preferred)
