JOB SUMMARY - Helium Business Analyst
Provide support for the proper management of the NST/MTG container fleet. Provide support to Global Helium sales customer‑facing activities and data tracking. Analysis of distribution and sourcing costs. Support the monthly P&L and reporting process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage the Nippon Sanso/Matheson container fleet. Access and use data from logistics teams, forwarders and DOL to improve accuracy and value of container utilization modeling and planning.
Detect changes in customer demand and supply‑chain logistics as they impact container availability.
Provide forward‑looking analysis and insight to Global Helium on helium container availability.
Support Global Helium sales customer‑facing activities and data tracking. Communicate with customers regarding all price adjustments. Provide notice to customers regarding export regulations and compliance as necessary. Manage all enquiries and complaints regarding invoices from customers and act as the Global Helium customer liaison regarding invoices.
Analyze distribution and sourcing costs. Track transport costs. Lead project work as needed to improve transport costs and efficiencies. Support Global Helium to enable analysis of fees and costs charged by various helium sources.
Support the monthly P&L and reporting process. Track source invoices and verify source data. Liaise with Financial Group to ensure monthly sales reports are accurate. Provide data for review of monthly P&L.
Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or a college degree and/or previous international shipping experience in a related field are preferred, but not required.
Work Experience: Preferred minimum of 5 years prior logistics experience in the import/export transportation industry (land, sea and air) to include scheduling/building loads.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Work well both independently and as part of a group in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent communication and analytical skills and computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Work Monday through Friday, 10‑hour shifts, and monitor emails after hours for any urgent service issues.
Attend after‑hours conference calls may be required to accommodate overseas customers.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
IATA/International Air Transport Association – Preferred
IMDG/International Maritime Dangerous Goods – Preferred
If the candidate doesn’t have either, Matheson will provide the training and ongoing recertification.
