This Opportunity
Komline‑Sanderson is a leading provider of engineered solutions for the industrial and environmental markets, delivering high‑performance equipment across industries including wastewater treatment, mining, chemicals, and power generation. The material handler will assist in our manufacturing facility by moving equipment and parts, cleaning, organizing, performing basic assembly and manufacturing tasks, and performing other functions as needed. The material handler is responsible for both hands‑on material handling and expediting materials to prevent delays, improve efficiency, and maintain on‑time order completion.
Roles and Responsibilities
Load, unload, transport, and stage raw materials; work‑in‑progress (WIP), and finished goods in accordance with production schedules
Prepare and kit materials based on bills of materials (BOMs), work orders, and engineering drawings to support assembly and fabrication processes
Support production flow by ensuring timely delivery of materials to workstations to minimize downtime and bottlenecks
Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
Maintain accurate inventory transactions within ERP/MRP systems and assist with cycle counts and inventory audits
Collaborate cross‑functionally with production, quality, and purchasing teams to ensure material availability and resolve discrepancies
Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to optimize shop efficiency
Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage or discrepancies and report issues to supervision
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in alignment with manufacturing best practices and safety protocols
Assist with basic assembly, packaging, and shipping preparation as needed
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or vocational/technical training in manufacturing, logistics, or related field
1+ years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment
Proven experience operating forklifts; ability to obtain/maintain certification (OSHA compliant)
Ability to read and interpret work orders, pick lists, and basic engineering drawings or BOMs
Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach
Understanding of workplace safety standards and adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional production team
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with inventory control practices and material flow within a manufacturing setting
Forklift certification and overhead crane operation experience
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar manufacturing systems)
Exposure to lean manufacturing principles (6S, Kaizen, continuous improvement)
Experience supporting high‑mix, low‑volume or engineered‑to‑order manufacturing environments
Basic mechanical aptitude or experience assisting in assembly/fabrication processes
