We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable
Solar Site Surveyor
to join our growing renewable energy team. In this role, you will conduct on-site assessments for residential solar installations, gathering accurate measurements, evaluating site conditions, and documenting key information to support system design and project planning.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors, traveling to multiple locations, using measurement tools and mobile technology, and communicating professionally with customers.
Responsibilities
Conduct on-site surveys for residential and commercial solar projects
Measure roof dimensions, pitch, azimuth, shading, and structural conditions
Assess electrical service panels, meter locations, and interconnection points
Capture site photos, drone imagery (if certified), and detailed notes
Identify installation challenges such as obstructions, roof damage, shading, or access limitations
Input survey data accurately into company software and CRM systems
Coordinate with sales, design, permitting, and installation teams
Ensure all surveys comply with company standards and safety protocols
Maintain equipment, vehicle, and field tools in good working condition
Qualifications
Experience in solar, roofing, construction, surveying, or related field preferred
Basic knowledge of residential electrical systems and roof structures
Comfortable climbing ladders, walking roofs, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Proficiency with smartphones, tablets, and mobile apps
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Ability to travel locally on a daily basis
OSHA 10, drone certification, or similar credentials are a plus
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to climb ladders and work safely at heights
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, and varying weather conditions
