
Photonics Design Engineer

Responsibilities
Design and simulate active/passive integrated photonic devices and circuits.
Develop photonic device models and optimize performance metrics (efficiency, bandwidth, loss).
Collaborate with fabrication teams to ensure design manufacturability (DFM).
Conduct design verification and performance analysis via simulation and experimental data correlation.
Support product development from concept to volume production.
Document specifications and support test/integration teams.
Qualifications
Master's with 3 years' experience or PhD in EE/Optics/Physics. Industry experience preferred.
Proficiency in photonic simulation tools (Lumerical, COMSOL, etc.).
Strong knowledge of photonic device principles (waveguides, modulators, detectors, lasers).
Experience with semiconductor fabrication processes and DFM.
Familiarity with scripting for automation (Python, MATLAB).
Background in silicon photonics, III-V, or hybrid integration is a plus.
Strong analytical skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
