Overview
To provide maximum benefit to member-consumers by conducting warehouse functions in an orderly manner while maintaining accurate inventory records. To ensure the warehouse is run in an effective and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
Determines and maintains most economical and adequate levels of materials and equipment to assure an uninterrupted flow of materials for daily work by cooperative employees, outside contractors, and for use in emergency situations. Recommends material purchases to the Purchasing Manager in order to maintain adequate working stock levels.
Accepts material deliveries and assists with unloading manually and by using a forklift. Maintains warehouses, pole yard, and related areas in a neat and orderly fashion. Places received items into designated storage areas or notifies appropriate employees of deliveries. Prepares new and reconditioned transformers for issue to construction crews.
Receives and sorts material and equipment retired from the distribution system into salvageable and non-salvageable categories. Separates, cleans, and places salvageable items into proper designated areas. Completes associated records as required.
Maintains records necessary for work order accounting and to support the formulation of work plans and reports required by RUS and all other regulatory agencies.
Reviews, reconciles, and prepares invoices for approval by appropriate management employees. Inputs material inventory items received and invoices those items on the computer. Maintains current purchase order files. Schedules periodic testing and exchange of high voltage rubber goods and other high voltage equipment.
Keeps informed of and abides by all cooperative policies, procedures, programs and safety rules. Participates in educational training and conferences as needed to maintain progressiveness and knowledge in job related areas. Participates in scheduled safety meetings and first-aid classes and maintains CPR and first-aid certificates. Travels to receive education and training as directed.
To establish and maintain contacts and relationships for the purpose of coordination and communication with all employees. To cooperate with all employees in maintaining pleasant working relationships and improvements of morale; to exchange ideas, information and job experiences that will benefit the organization and insure the continued progress of the cooperative.
Participates as an active team member in the following ways: attends meetings, shows respect for team members, encourages feedback. Assists in accomplishing team goals and objectives, contributes insights and opinions.
