Job Summary
The Senior Nuclear QA/QC technician provides inspection, testing and evaluation services for our nuclear fleet. This role also develops NDE techniques and procedures as applicable. This position is based at Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant.
Job Description
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Required understanding of Mechanical; electrical and I&C work activities
Directly evaluate performance of work performed against Nuclear Fleet and industry standards to determine compliance
Understanding of materials, material properties, and failure modes
Working knowledge of ASME Codes Section II, III, V, IX, and XI
Perform inspections of work being performed in support of nuclear fleet (Davis-Besse)
Perform and evaluate test results for dedication/acceptance of parts/materials
Observe and monitor work activities
Perform document reviews for compliance with specification/code/regulatory requirements
Capable of being certified in NDE techniques (i.e. MT;PT;UT;RT;ET;VT)
Capable of using precision measuring equipment (e.g. calibers, micrometers)
Must be able to read and understand construction drawings
Must be knowledgeable in Nuclear construction codes and standards
Knowledgeable in material specifications
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
Education as required by regulatory agencies; minimum High school diploma or GED
8 years nuclear plant experience; 4 in the area of QC inspection or NDE
Technical understanding of multiple nuclear plant processes / programs
