Job Overview
The Integrated Airborne Solutions (IAS) Division of the Airborne Systems Business Area at Leidos is seeking a UH-60A/L Blackhawk Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) located in Marana, AZ to support the Army National Guard (ANG) Aviation Training Services and Operational Support (ATSOS) program. Leidos, the prime contractor, provides flight and simulation training, classroom instruction, and schoolhouse support—including the One Army School System (OASS) integration and Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) maintenance—for the Army National Guard.
Responsibilities
Conduct Maintenance Test Flights on UH-60 A and L model helicopters.
Conduct Maintenance Test Flights to accept or check accomplishment of maintenance or Modifications.
Conduct Maintenance Test Flights to determine aircraft and component functionality according to predetermined specifications while subjected to the flight environment.
Conduct Pre-Phase and Post-Phase Maintenance Test Flights.
Conduct General Maintenance Test Flights (GMTF) and Limited Maintenance Test Flights (LMTF) to verify aircraft serviceability.
Complete all aircrew training program (ATP) requirements IAW DCMA INST 8210-1D, AR 95-1, and the applicable dATM. Contract pilot shall participate in No-notice evaluation program.
Coordinate daily tasks and requirements (examples are work schedules, leaves, etc.) of contract employees to meet AATS missioned training requirements and schoolhouse accreditation as directed by AATS chains of command.
Responsible for compliance with appropriate Army, National Guard and AATS policies, procedures and regulations.
Report Instructor Flight and Operation data in the Task Order Monthly Report.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma with 10 years’ of applicable experience or Bachelors’ Degree with 6 years’ of experience.
Certified in DCMA INST 8210-1D; qualified in mission, type, design, and appropriate aircraft; with ≥1,000 hours pilot-in-command, including ≥300 hours in similar type aircraft.
USAACE/AATS (or equivalent Army approved NET) qualified in type aircraft.
Instructor Training Course (ITC) or ABIC qualified, or graduate from an AATS provided ABIC course within 12 months of hire.
FAA Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate.
FAA Second Class flight physical required; Army Contractor pilots may maintain an annual FAA Second Class Medical Certificate or an Army Class 2 FDME.
Experience as a Standardization Instructor Pilot (SP), Instructor Pilot (IP), Instructor Flight Examiner (IE), or Maintenance Evaluator (ME) in a OASS school, MTOE, or TDA organization.
For contractor pilots (Army) contracted to conduct aircraft qualification training and administer the Aircrew Training Program (ATP), position holders must meet all Army initial aircraft qualifications and recurrent training requirements as per AR 95-1 and the applicable Digital Aircrew Training Module (dATM), DCMA 8210.1D, para 4.3.4.3.
Must meet instructor qualification requirements IAW TR 350-10, TR 350-70.
Candidate must meet all Army initial aircraft qualifications and recurrent training requirements per AR 95-1 and the applicable Digital Aircrew Training Module (dATM) (DCMA 8210.1D, para 4.3.4.3).
Must obtain and maintain DoD Secret Security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products.
IP experience at EAATS, HAATS, WAATS or U.S. Army Aviation Training Center.
Previous ACT‑E qualification and sustainment training as per TC 3‑04.11.
Graduate of the Army Maintenance Test Pilot Course or complete an equivalency evaluation conducted by the Directorate of Evaluation and Standardization (DES), U.S. Army Aviation Warfighting Center.
Pay Range
Pay Range: $87,100.00 - $157,450.00 (general guideline; not guaranteed). Additional factors include responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity.
