Network Administrator (Information Technology Department)
We are seeking a skilled Network Administrator to manage and secure our network infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, implementing robust security measures, and driving continuous improvements to support business operations.
Job Summary
This position reports to the Technical Services Manager and has primary responsibility for the administration of the network infrastructure and network security. It involves evaluating the current network infrastructure, maintaining networking components, recommending and implementing improvements, protecting against internal and external threats, and serving as an escalation point for on‑call technicians.
Job Duties
Provide regular management and monitoring of all network equipment, including firewalls, routers, switches, servers, Wi‑Fi, and related components (current hardware is Fortinet).
Manage and monitor security vulnerabilities and advisories, mitigating them in a timely manner.
Assess threat intelligence feeds, product advisories, and industry best practices to maintain network and server security protocols.
Assist in developing short‑ and long‑range recommendations for networking needs.
Assist with the design and implementation of disaster recovery, incident response, and business continuity operations.
Research and advise management on enhancements and new releases of hardware and software technology.
Ensure vital network systems are backed up regularly; manage backups, restorations, and backup configurations.
Document changes or upgrades to servers, network equipment, and security systems.
Perform needs assessments to ensure appropriate justification for improvements and modifications.
Coordinate with vendors and consultants for network‑related projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer technology, computer science, information systems, or related field.
Minimum of three years of experience with Fortinet firewall and networking products.
Minimum of three years of experience with security systems and protocols, including cybersecurity advisories.
Valid driver’s license.
Proficiency with current computer technology, job‑specific software, and customer service systems.
Starting Salary Range:
$101,295.00 – $124,087.00 annually (dependent on qualifications). The salary range for this position is $101,295.00 – $146,879.00.
