Job Summary
Information and Technology Services (ITS) has an exciting opportunity for a PeopleSoft Developer to join the Financials (FIN) Team within ITS. As a member of our team, you will work on a variety of projects using the PeopleSoft suite of technologies including PeopleTools Application Designer, Change Assistant, PeopleCode, BI Publisher, Integration Broker, SQR, COBOL, nVision and more. You will work with business system analysts and technical infrastructure teams to create new software solutions, integrate applications using APIs and other technologies, address issues, and perform maintenance. You will report to the Application Development Manager.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively and independently on complex application development tasks
Develop, implement and maintain web and batch applications, reports, queries and application integrations
Lead projects, forecast required time and resources, provide status updates, prioritize completion of tasks, and follow established standards and methodology
Work with customers and business systems analysts to design solutions that meet the needs of the customer and university
Coordinate and apply vendor provided software patches and maintenance
Provide production problem analysis and resolution, job scheduling, monitoring, tuning, and end‑user support
Demonstrate in‑depth knowledge of the business and administrative processes
Provide training, guidance, and assistance to staff to accomplish goals
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years experience (Senior Level) or 2+ years experience (Intermediate) customizing and supporting applications using Oracle/PeopleSoft FIN 9.2 development tools (PeopleTools, PeopleCode, SQR, COBOL, Application Engine, Integration Broker, nVision, Change Assistant and BI Publisher)
Experience working with relational database technology to support web applications
Experience developing web applications using structured techniques
Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and process improvement methodologies
Proficiency with one or more procedural or object‑oriented programming languages
Proficiency with reporting tools, query writing and SQL
Experience supporting system‑to‑system integrations using APIs, web services and other integration techniques
Experience with PeopleSoft Financials modules such as GL, Billing and SCM
Compensation
This appointment may be filled at either the Senior or Intermediate level. The target salary range for the Senior level is $87,338 to $97,043 and for the Intermediate level is $73,600 to $82,000. Applicants with lesser experience are also encouraged to apply.
Modes of Work
The primary office location of this position is in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. May also require on‑call availability and working during non‑business hours.
