Job Description
8+ years as a Data Warehouse Engineer or DBA.
3+ years of hands‑on BigQuery administration in production.
Map Teradata DDLs and data types to BigQuery-optimized partitioning and clustering schemas.
Refactor legacy Teradata BTEQ scripts and SQL logic into BigQuery Standard SQL and stored procedures.
Optimize query performance and slot utilization to manage costs for migrated workloads.
Configure BigQuery Slot Reservations and Workload Management to replicate Teradata capacity.
Perform data validation, row‑count reconciliations, and checksums between Teradata and Google Cloud Platform.
Establish query guardrails and project‑level quotas to manage spend during migration phases.
Strong SQL performance tuning and query optimization skills.
Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform services: BigQuery, Composer/Airflow, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Monitoring/Logging.
Experience with EDW platform migrations and enterprise‑scale data engineering.
Strong knowledge of IAM, security controls, networking basics, and DR strategies.
Experience with scripting (Python/Bash) and automation.
