
Analyst-Technical Writing

Overview
Technical Writer role located in Bloomington, MN. On-site four days a week with onsite collaboration; Fridays offer flexibility to choose your work location as required.
What You Will Do
Work cross-functionally with Technical Operations teams, Engineering, Publications, Education Center and other departments.
Research, collect and analyze data specific to products/projects for use in creating technical literature for installation, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting processes, and development of policy and procedure information.
Organize and verify information for accuracy using available resources such as CAD drawings, PDF drawing files, wiring/schematic drawings, and bill of materials (BOM).
Author/manage content with an XML editor (PTC Arbortext preferred).
Create or edit illustrations for explaining service or process procedures using software tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Corel Draw, Pro-E).
What You Will Bring
At least 5 years’ experience with technical authoring/writing, technical illustration and desktop publishing.
At least 1 year experience working with XML authoring software.
Ability to communicate with and understand highly technical subject matter experts to aid in document development for dealers, customers and internal teams.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing demands and priorities.
Self-sufficient and a self-starter who requires minimal direction with the ability to learn and comprehend new and complex systems and software packages.
Additional Skills Preferred
Knowledge/familiarity with Thermo King products and dealer network operations.
Knowledge of PTC Arbortext Editor and publishing, and understanding of the DITA standard for creation and management of information.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization from individual contributors to executive leadership.
Experience with illustration programs (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, CorelDraw).
