Senior Communications Standards Engineer
The Marlin Alliance, Inc. is seeking a Senior Communications Standards Engineer to work in San Diego, CA. This position supports the analysis and evaluation of tactical radio systems, software defined radios (SDR's) and communications architectures. This individual will provide technical support to government stakeholders by reviewing communications system designs, evaluating interoperability and integration considerations and provide recommendations related to the development and application of communications standards for DoD tactical communications systems.

Established in 2002, The Marlin Alliance is a woman-owned small business (WOSB) seeking to hire highly skilled individuals to support mission critical projects within the Navy. We are looking for motivated individuals to lead and support digital transformation, data science and analytics, and automation projects for variety of Navy clients. Individuals must be able to function in a fast-paced work environment and able to adapt quickly to rapidly changing requirements and technologies. Using your comprehensive knowledge of various technologies, you will design, develop, and implement solutions to support Navy mission owners in their digital transformation journey.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical analysis and engineering support related to tactical communications standards, architectures and interoperability.

Review technical documentation, system designs and engineering artifacts related to software defined radios (SDRs), tactical waveforms and communications networks.

Evaluate communication system architectures and implementations to identify interoperability, performance and integration considerations.

Provide technical input and recommendations regarding the development, application and evolution of communications standards supporting DoD tactical communications systems.

Participate in technical reviews, working groups and meetings with government and industry stakeholders.

Develop technical observations, analyses and written recommendations to support government decision-making.

Support evaluation of emerging communications technologies and approaches relevant to future tactical communications capabilities.

Coordinate with related engineering disciplines, including cybersecurity and CEMA specialists, when evaluating communications system capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

Strong problem-solving capability

Experience with Waveforms and tactical communication systems.

Experience of working within an Agile, continuous integration environment

5+ year of experience with PKI secured systems

5+ year of experience with software development and lifecycles

Ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science

Experience with DoD tactical communications systems.

Experience with the Navy

$120,000 - $240,000
