Position Summary
The maintenance/driver is responsible for the upkeep, cleanliness and safety of the entire facility, including basic repairs. The role also includes transporting passengers and freight under the direction of the Facilities Manager at 648 3rd Ave, Chula Vista Corps.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain sidewalks, building entrances, windows, floors, bathrooms, and overall cleanliness.

Keep office areas tidy, ensure adequate lighting, and maintain furniture in good condition.

Perform daily rounds and inspections to confirm trash, recycle, and security measures are in compliance, locking all doors at shift end.

Maintain basic plumbing, electrical systems, walls, doors, paint, and carpeting; report all repairs, deficiencies, and safety issues to the Administrative Assistant Manager.

Vacuum designated areas.

Assign, inventory, and distribute cleaning and maintenance supplies; oversee landscaping services for grounds upkeep.

Maintain assigned vehicles; report repairs and maintenance needs to management.

Track tool inventory and secure storage to keep tools in safe operating condition.

Maintain positive working relationships with tenants, Salvation Army staff, volunteers, visitors, and community representatives.

Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Administrative Assistant Manager.

Conduct maintenance repairs on furniture, fixtures, and equipment using appropriate protective equipment.

Supervise vendors for building repairs and drop‑offs.

Drive for daily donation pickups, summer camps, kettle programs, Sunday meetings, Christmas programs, summer youth programs, and other assignments.

Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, and twist intermittently or continuously; grasp, push, pull objects such as files and cabinets; reach overhead; and lift up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years experience in building maintenance or a vocational certificate in building maintenance.

Valid Class C Driver's License.

Forklift and scissor lift certifications (a plus).

High school diploma or GED.

Knowledge of OSHA regulations and Health Department standards.

Experience with light plumbing, painting, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.

Microsoft Office proficiency.

Clean driving record.
