Jewelry Design Associate

About Us: We are a luxury jewelry company dedicated to craftsmanship, quality, and design excellence. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Jewelry Design Assistant to join our New York City team.
Job Overview: The Jewelry Design Assistant will support our designer by creating and editing 2D drawings in Adobe Illustrator, assembling client-facing materials, and assisting with many other aspects of the design process. The ideal candidate has experience designing jewelry, understands the technical side of jewelry design, is detail-oriented, and can adhere to deadlines. This is a great opportunity for a junior designer who is interested in being mentored by an exceptional, experienced team. This is a full-time, hands-on, in-person role based out of our New York City office.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist our designer with the creation of accurate and to-scale 2D drawings in Illustrator for client projects, new collections and special orders
Create mock ups in Photoshop for client projects as needed
Assemble client-facing materials
Organize and catalog approved designs in a way that can be easily referenced by the rest of the team
Create technical specification sheets with measurements for production purposes and relay information regarding approved designs to the Production Team
Additional design-related tasks, as needed
Provide support to the Production Team, as needed
Quali fi cations:
Previous experience designing fine jewelry, ideally with 1-2 years of experience in the jewelry industry
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
3D rendering, hand-rendering and watercolor skills are a plus but not required
Knowledge of gemstones is a plus but not required
Strong attention to detail and an obsession with perfection
Highly organized with excellent time-management skills - must be able to deliver on time!
Ability to work independently and take initiative while being a team player
Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor
