We are seeking a

Global Safety Manager

for Membrane Solutions, accountable for driving world-class safety performance across a global manufacturing footprint. This role is located at our

St. Louis, MO

manufacturing facility.

In this role, you will lead global safety strategy and execution, providing safety leadership and oversight for approximately 400-500 employees across four locations worldwide, with accountability for meeting and exceeding safety performance targets.

Membrane Solutions is growing rapidly, including additional manufacturing facilities in our St. Louis location. As a result, our safety program must be robust, scalable, and well-suited for a dynamic growth environment and ongoing workforce expansion.

Strong change-management and influencing capabilities are required to build and sustain a world-class, safety-focused culture at all levels of the organization.

This role serves as the primary safety advisor to the General Manager and the Membrane Solutions leadership team and partners closely with Air Products central safety leadership to ensure alignment with enterprise safety standards and expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Model Air Products' Safety Philosophy that all accidents are preventable.

Lead and own the strategic oversight of safety and EHS management systems for the global Membrane Solutions manufacturing business.

Manage the St. Louis Site Safety Specialist.

Demonstrate visible personal safety leadership and provide safety mentoring and behavioral-based coaching at all organizational levels.

Drive and sustain a proactive, world-class safety culture across all global sites.

Deliver clear, timely communication of incidents to the General Manager and ensure coordination with central safety leadership.

Lead comprehensive incident management, including investigation, root-cause analysis, and execution of corrective and preventive actions in partnership with site safety leaders.

Analyze leading and lagging safety indicators to identify systemic risks and prioritize continuous-improvement initiatives.

Own and ensure consistent application of local safety work processes, standards, and procedures while maintaining full alignment with Global Air Products policies.

Conduct benchmarking and collaborate with regional, peer, and industry safety programs; maintain strong working relationships with central Air Products safety teams.

Support and challenge site leadership to ensure effective safety training, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.

Provide safety leadership and risk input to commercial bids, customer commitments, and new business opportunities.

Support safety integration for new facilities, expansions, acquisitions, and start-ups.

Support implementation of applicable regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001) and participate in hazard reviews and safety requirements for new business developments.

Exercise authority to elevate significant safety risks, require corrective actions, and halt work where imminent risk to people or operations exists, in alignment with Air Products safety policy.

Requirements & Qualifications

Ability to provide personal leadership in delivering world-class safety performance.

Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering-related field.

Demonstrated experience driving measurable and sustained improvements in safety performance.

Demonstrated experience leveraging leading indicators to prevent injuries and incidents.

High degree of integrity with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.

10+ years of progressive safety leadership experience in complex manufacturing or engineered systems environments, including multi-site or global responsibility.

Experience with management systems, document control, and change-of-process procedures.

Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

CSP or similar professional safety certification preferred but not required.

Passion for employee engagement, team development, diversity, and inclusion.

Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across organizational and geographic boundaries.

Demonstrated ability to lead safety performance through growth, organizational change, or scale-up environments.
