Job Summary
We are seeking a Legal Recruiting Coordinator to join K&L Gates. The Coordinator will support recruiting, learning and professional development functions and coordinate activities, projects, and programs that may be local, national, or global. The role is part of a regional team responsible for recruiting efforts across multiple offices and firmwide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Student and Lateral Associate Recruitment: coordinate scheduling candidate interviews, travel arrangements, hotel reservations, expense reimbursements; produce all necessary correspondence; coordinate on‑campus and job fair interviews; process resumes; maintain recruitment database and files.

Summer Associate Program: organize orientation, training programs, social events; track assignments and evaluations; attend events; generate related correspondence.

Talent Management: coordinate pre‑arrival/onboarding details for new lawyers, including bar exam fees, stipends, orientation programs, and new‑hire paperwork.

L&PD: collaborate with the Professional Development Team on summer and first‑year associate curriculum and serve as on‑site coordinator for the office.

Corporate services: coordinate room bookings, catering, presenters, materials, room set‑up, and final attendance numbers.

Produce and distribute training materials.

Additional Duties

Ad hoc projects and other operational or administrative duties as required.

Required Experience and Skills

Bachelor’s degree.

Administrative/secretarial experience supporting recruiting and learning and professional development, preferably in professional services.

Proficiency in office software (document processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, calendars, internet, applicant tracking system).

Ability to learn new computer applications and functions.

Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well with lawyers, management, administrators, and staff.

Problem‑solving, multi‑tasking, and priority‑setting skills.

Highly organized with strong oral and written communication.

Strong work ethic, professional approach, accountability for outcomes.

Attention to detail.

Team‑player with a positive attitude.

Continuous improvement orientation and innovative mindset.

Preferred: previous experience in a law firm, partnership, or other professional services; HR generalist or talent role experience; experience with legal search firms and lateral placement agreements; extracurricular professional development involvement.

Additional Abilities

Availability for overtime and occasional overnight travel.

Ability to open file cabinets, lift files, bend and stand on a stool as needed for a largely sedentary office job.

Compensation
Salary range: $63,000 – $110,000. Final compensation determined during the interview process and based on experience, expertise, business needs, and market factors.
