
Kids Early Childhood Coordinator

Job Description
The Kids Early Childhood Coordinator will work closely with the Early Childhood Director to inspire kids to follow Jesus and fearlessly change the world, by managing and implementing early childhood programs for children from birth through pre-kindergarten. Reporting to the Kids Early Childhood Director on the Kids team, this role is responsible for coordinating daily activities, supporting volunteers and parents, and ensuring a safe and enriching environment for children. The Coordinator will play a key role in executing curriculum, overseeing classroom activities, and contributing to the overall success of the Early Childhood Ministries.
A full time position, the schedule generally includes weekend services, meetings at our office in Irvine, and additional time during the week for a total of 40 hours. This position is nonexempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Responsibilities
Program Coordination:
Assist in the implementation of age-appropriate curricula and programs that promote spiritual, social, and emotional development.
Plan and coordinate weekly activities, lessons, and special events for assigned age groups.
Ensure that all programs are executed smoothly and meet the developmental needs of the children.
Volunteer Management:
Recruit, train, and support volunteers for various roles within the Early Childhood Ministry.
Schedule and oversee volunteer activities, ensuring they are adequately prepared and informed.
Provide ongoing feedback and encouragement to volunteers to foster a positive and effective working environment.
Classroom and Environment Management:
Oversee daily operations within assigned classrooms, including setting up, tearing down, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized space.
Monitor and assess the effectiveness of classroom activities and make adjustments as needed.
Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations, including child protection policies and procedures.
Parent and Family Engagement:
Build strong relationships with parents and guardians, addressing their concerns and providing support as needed.
Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and upcoming events.
Organize and facilitate parent education workshops and family engagement activities.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and other relevant data.
Assist in the preparation of reports and updates for the Early Childhood Director.
Manage classroom supplies and resources, ensuring they are stocked and in good condition.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other Early Childhood Coordinators and the Early Childhood Director to align programs and strategies.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to planning and decision-making processes.
Collaborate with other ministry teams to integrate early childhood programs with broader church initiatives.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Ministry, or a related field. Relevant certifications or coursework in early childhood education is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in early childhood education or ministry, with experience in program coordination or teaching preferred.
Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively with a diverse team. Proficiency in using basic office software and tools.
Personal Attributes: Passion for early childhood education and ministry. Patient, creative, and able to connect effectively with children, parents, and volunteers. A commitment to the church’s mission and values.
