Job Title: Admissions Recruiter
Position FTE: 100%
Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Recruitment and Visits as an integral member of the Undergraduate Admissions Recruitment team, the Admissions Recruiter provides support to increase applications and enrollment by planning and conducting extensive recruiting activities at designated secondary schools and college fairs, planning and coordinating high school visits and attending college fairs within an assigned geographic travel territory, interacting with school counselors, students and family members, continuing communication with prospective students via direct mail, phone and e‑mail, conducting daily / Saturday Admission information sessions and campus tours as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (conferred by date of hire); preferably in communications, education, business, human services or related field.
Experience in customer service, sales, advising, counseling, family engagement, admissions, student success and/or working with high school/college students.
Experience working with broad‑based populations, strong interpersonal, public speaking and organizational skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Computer skills, valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively, including evenings and weekends for recruitment events.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including strong interpersonal and public speaking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Some work experience at a college or university.
Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
Knowledge of higher education trends, admission processes and the ability to engage effectively with a wide‑ranging student population.
Essential Functions & Percent Of Time
Represent Wright State in the community (40%).
Visit high schools and represent Wright State at College day
ight programs and other community events including evenings/weekends. Manage recruitment territory. Establish and maintain positive relationships with school counselors and other appropriate staff in high schools. Engage with prospective students (30%).
Provide admission counseling to prospective students. Correspond with prospective students via letters, telephone calls, email, texting and face‑to‑face appointments. Conduct presentations. Coordinate recruitment activities or programs as assigned (10%).
Respond to requests for information from prospective students, parents and others (10%).
Perform other duties as assigned (10%).
Working Conditions
Climate‑controlled office environment with high volume of customer service traffic. Requires extensive evening and weekend hours. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
