Position Overview
The Recruiter is responsible for full-cycle recruitment of professional, technical, and office-based roles across Walbec Group's heavy highway, asphalt, mining, and construction operations. This role requires a sharp sourcer and relationship builder - someone who can identify and engage hard-to-find talent in niche, industry-specific markets while managing the urgency and on-demand pace that comes with a growing construction organization. This isn't a post-and-pray role. It requires proactive pipeline development, deep industry networking, and the ability to pivot quickly when business needs shift.

Execute full-cycle recruitment for professional and technical roles including Construction Management, Structural Engineering, Heavy Civil, Safety, Risk, and office-based positions supporting heavy highway, asphalt production, and mining operations
Build and maintain proactive talent pipelines for niche, hard-to-fill roles through targeted sourcing strategies including LinkedIn, industry networks, professional associations, and direct outreach
Partner with hiring managers to develop a deep understanding of role requirements, team dynamics, and business context - going beyond the job description to source candidates who are a genuine fit
Manage multiple active requisitions simultaneously with the urgency and responsiveness expected in a fast-moving operational environment
Represent Walbec Group at industry conferences, professional events, and association meetings to build brand awareness and develop long-term talent relationships
Maintain accurate and timely candidate and requisition data in Workday ATS throughout the full recruitment lifecycle
Deliver a high-quality candidate experience through consistent, clear, and timely communication at every stage of the process
Communicate offer details compliantly and effectively, including compensation, benefits, pre-employment requirements, and start logistics
Ensure all hiring activity aligns with federal and state employment laws and internal hiring policies
Coordinate new hire orientation logistics to ensure a smooth transition from offer acceptance through first day
Track and report on recruitment metrics including time-to-fill, pipeline activity, and sourcing effectiveness
Required Qualifications
4-7 years of dedicated Talent Acquisition experience - HR generalist or HR business partner experience will not substitute for hands‑on recruiting experience

Experience managing a varied requisition load in a fast-paced, on-demand environment
Hands‑on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems; Workday experience a plus
Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance requirements
Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and organizational skills
Comfortable shifting priorities quickly and maintaining quality output under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
Experience recruiting within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or industrial sectors
