Payroll Administrator

The Payroll Administrator reports to the Payroll Manager and assists with processing payrolls and performing other payroll related activities for all Companies in compliance with labor laws, collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), tax regulations, and internal company policies. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to perform complex payroll operations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Payroll Processing

Process weekly payrolls for all union and non-union employees in a timely and accurate manner.
Assist with ensuring compliance with applicable laws, CBAs, and company policies and procedures.
Verify that payrolls are accurately calculated based on approved timecards, and that deductions, overtime and special pay rates are calculated correctly.
Assist with interpreting and applying CBA requirements, including wage scales, benefits, and deductions.
Submit accurate and timely union dues, pension, and benefits remittances.
Prepare and pay federal, state, and local payroll taxes, in compliance with regulations.
Process employee garnishments in compliance with legal requirements.
Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information to ensure accuracy in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications

Practical payroll experience.
Associate or bachelor’s degree a plus, especially in accounting or finance.
Construction and/or union payroll experience (and understanding of CBAs, certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements) a plus.
Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
Proficiency with payroll software and systems (Vista, a plus).
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
