Summary

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, operates a loading system to load bulk bags, trucks, and rail cars for shipments to customers. Complies with all applicable safety policies and regulations.
Responsibilities

Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Operate a computerized loading system to load cement into trucks and railcars.
Generate bills of lading using a computerized load-out system.
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot Cyclone Air barge loading system.
Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on rail car and truck loading equipment.
Operate forklift to load bulk bags of cement onto pallets and track-mobile to move rail cars.
Operate pneumatic door opener.
Perform bulk loading of cement onto trucks, rail cars, and barges.
Takes samples of loaded cement.
Perform material unloading from rail cars.
Perform general clean-up for the shipping area.
Measure cement silos to monitor inventory.
Align rail cars on tracks as needed for loading and shipping.
Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent is required.
Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. Willingness to learn; training will be provided.
Must become familiar with and participate in initial and annual training for ISO 14000 requirements.
A minimum of one year of job‑related experience is preferred.
Ability to operate the loading and unloading systems used for bulk bags, trucks, and rail cars.
Ability to operate sweeper, forklift, track mobile, and other mobile equipment as needed.
Ability to use general hand tools.
Must be able to calculate loads going into trucks using general math calculations.
Good communication skills are required.
Ability to use a computer.
Ability to interface with customers on a regular basis in a manner that promotes positive customer relations.
Ability to work independently.
Work Environment

Work to be performed in a shop environment and outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise. Exposure to high elevations up to 250 feet, all weather conditions, and normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
