Segrera Associates is recruiting a Sr. Accountant / Sr. Bookkeeper on behalf of a well-established electrical contracting company in Lakeland. This is a high-impact, hands-on role that reports directly to their Controller and is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate must be willing to be hands-on with processing AP, AR, and payroll. Strong GL experience is ideal, but only required for Senior Accountant-level consideration. The ideal candidate brings a strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a hands-on approach to core accounting functions.
This role is fully on-site in Lakeland, FL. Candidates must be located within commuting distance of Lakeland and comfortable working on-site. Candidates open to relocating to the Lakeland area are also welcome to apply.
Essential Job Functions
Responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end close activities
Oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Assists with financial reporting, account reconciliations, and preparation of internal financial statements
Supports cost tracking and financial reporting at a detailed operational level as applicable
Partners with leadership to provide financial insights, variance analysis, and operational support
Works cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure proper coding of transactions and accurate financial data
Maintains compliance with internal accounting policies and supports ongoing process improvements
Education & Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience required for Senior Accountant-level consideration
Experience supporting high-volume accounting environments strongly preferred
Prior exposure to AP, AR, and payroll processes required
Experience with ERP/accounting systems preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
