
Electrical Design Engineer

Talascend is currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for a direct opportunity with our client in Wallingford, Connecticut .
Overview
The staff electrical engineer will work on project teams to create world-class designs for a variety of projects, including power, process, healthcare, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities. They will collaborate throughout the design and construction process, adapting electrical plans to meet client needs, budget constraints, and design factors. Responsibilities include performing electrical design from conceptual to completion, reviewing drawings, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
Create electrical designs for various projects from conceptual phase through design completion
Modify and review production drawings for projects including power plants, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, and governmental facilities
Design electrical components based on project requirements provided by project managers
Apply knowledge of electrical engineering principles, codes, and procedures within the industry
Research and compile project data as required
Update drawings using CAD software and verify accuracy
Prepare information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration
Perform field inspections, measurements, and calculations for public and private clients
Perform other duties as assigned and ensure compliance with policies and standards
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program and 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred
OR bachelor degree in electrical or related engineering technology from an ABET-accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, with 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred
OR master degree in electrical engineering and 2 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred
Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work methodically and analytically with demonstrated critical thinking skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D rendering programs, and other analysis tools
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Engineers in Training (EIT) certification
