
Dietetic Technician - Nutrition Services

Overview
Screens patient medical records for nutritional risk factors and assessment needs, obtains clinical information, and provides nutritional care, basic dietary instructions, and general nutrition education.
Essential Functions
Assesses nutritional needs of patients by reviewing medical records and conducting interviews.
Develops and implements nutrition care plans based on patient needs and medical conditions.
Monitors and evaluates patient progress, adjusting nutrition care plans as needed.
Provides nutrition education to patients and their families.
Maintains accurate and complete patient records.
Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Education
Associate's Degree in Nutrition from an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) approved program, required.
Certifications
Dietetic Technician Registered, (DTR) or Registration Eligible with completion of exam within 3 months of hire, required.
Skills
Highly proficient technical skills.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently in various organizational systems.
Experience
Experience as a dietetic technician, preferred.
Clinical pediatric experience, preferred.
Physical Requirements
Occasionally: Bend/twist, Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, Lifting/Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Loud Noises, Patient Equipment, Peripheral vision, Pushing/Pulling: 0-25 lbs, Reaching above shoulder, Squat/kneel. Frequently: Audible speech, Color vision, Depth perception, Seeing – Far
