Position Details
Job Title: Retail Supervisor

Department: Retail Operations

FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt

Reports to: Store Manager

Pay Rate: $23.97 per hour

Position Summary
The Retail Supervisor assists the management team in the daily operations of the store, supervises and leads retail associates, and works a rotational assignment supervising various retail categories. The role ensures excellent customer service is provided to customers and donors.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

Assign, guide, coach and train employees while performing the work of a Sales Associate as needed.

Complete retail operational requirements by scheduling and assigning one or more employees.

Set expectations, instruct, coach and identify training needs.

Maintain orderly operations of the store in the absence of the Manager and Assistant.

Resolve workplace problems by addressing issues that impact employee performance and productivity.

Ensure excellent customer service is provided to customers and donors.

Prepare reports by collecting, documenting and summarizing information.

Complete projects by planning, organizing and monitoring assignments.

Promote productivity by following up with employees on work results.

Provide excellent internal/external customer service.

Maintain a clean work environment.

Demonstrate safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; report any potential hazards or accidents.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Goodwill’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; monitoring performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Partner with People Relations as needed and appropriate.

Education And Experience

High school graduate or equivalency (not required).

2 years of experience with retail POS systems.

2 years of customer service/retail experience.

1 year of supervisory experience preferred.

Computer/Technology Skills

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job.

Physical Abilities
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to lift and carry 30–40 pounds, have developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers), stand for long periods, frequently bend, kneel, reach, stoop, squat, push, climb ladders, and be able to travel across various surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain). Ability to operate computer systems, communicate effectively, and maintain reliable attendance.
