About This Role
Reporting to the Director of Finance Projects and Revenue, the Revenue Staff Accountant is part of Forrester’s Global Revenue Accounting Team responsible for accurately recording consolidated revenue for all of the organization’s entities. This role is integral within finance and works closely with the revenue team to ensure worldwide revenue is compliant with accounting and reporting standards. In addition to revenue responsibilities, this role has cross‑functional opportunities to partner with Forrester’s sales and consulting organizations on various business processes that have a financial statement impact.
Job Description
Process contract modifications and terminations under ASC 606, including revenue impact calculations.
Work on projects that directly affect the contract modification process; ensure updates to SFDC CPQ and other related systems are working correctly.
Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts as part of the month‑end close.
Prepare journal entries.
Prepare and submit sales tax filings.
Be responsible for cash applications to our open accounts receivable.
Assist with the quarterly and annual external revenue audits.
Participate in ad‑hoc projects and develop process/system improvements that increase the revenue team’s efficiency and effectiveness.
Work on cross‑functional assignments and projects with billing, deal desk, tax, and other departments in the Forrester ecosystem.
Job Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, preferably with one to two years of accounting experience; recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
Candidates interested in or actively pursuing a CPA license are strongly preferred.
Proficient computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, initiative, effective verbal and written communication, and the desire to learn.
Prior hands‑on experience with Salesforce, PeopleSoft, and/or OneSource Global Tax is a plus.
Base salary range: $70,000 - $114,000
