
Product Design Engineering Supervisor

Overview The Engineering Supervisor provides first-line technical and supervisory support for the Product Engineering team comprised of Product Design Engineers, Product Engineering Technicians, Product Design Engineering Architects, and R&D Technician. This role bridges hands-on product technical work with team supervision.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Supervise engineering activities related to Product Drawings, Bills of Materials, CNC Programs, and Routings.
Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring engineering deliverables, documentation, and change controls are completed on time.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve technical issues affecting safety, quality, delivery, or cost.
Provide timely technical guidance for specifications, design interpretation, and custom product requirements.
Execute engineering tasks needed to produce drawings, BOMs, and Routings on an as needed basis.
Provide engineering support for daily production activities, including troubleshooting process issues, equipment problems, tooling, or quality defects.
Ensure adherence to corporate quality, safety, environmental, and industry regulations; promote a safe work environment.
Perform all other duties as assigned to support departmental operations and company objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities Provide daily leadership, direction, and coaching to engineering staff.
Assign daily/weekly tasks, manage workloads and priorities, and ensure team deliverables align with production needs.
Assign and prioritize work to balance business needs, project timelines, and resource capacity.
Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, skill development, and succession planning in partnership with HR.
Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching/mentoring.
Foster an accountable, collaborative, and inclusive engineering culture.
Model strong communication, collaboration, and professionalism to foster an inclusive, accountable culture.
Objectives Provide input and feedback needed to redefine Product Engineering Team role changes due to the implementation of a new ERP.
Collaborate with the Director of Engineering to establish key performance indicators such as engineering on time delivery, engineering change notice reductions, including the associated metrics.

Qualifications Education:
Required- associate’s degree in engineering or related technical field with continued technical education or technical courses.
Preferred- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Experience And/or Training
Required- 5 - 7 years in an engineering‑related role within a manufacturing environment.
Preferred- >1 years of supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
Licenses/Certificates
Valid Driver’s License.
Technology/Equipment
Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD (or comparable CAD software), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working knowledge of an ERP/MRP system
Physical And Mental Demands Sitting for long periods of time, 6-8 hours per day. Walking, speaking, hearing, seeing. Listen and observe the environment for hazard prevention. Use hands for tools and typing. Semi-frequently lift to 15 lbs. Some tasks may require the employee to bend, stoop, twist, and turn.
Working Environment Office environment is temperature-controlled year-round, the plant environment is heated without air conditioning. Manufacturing area requires PPE and adherence to OSHA General Industry Standards (29 CFR Part 1910).
