
Forklift Operator - 2nd Shift

Position Summary
The Forklift Operator / Material Handler is responsible for moving materials throughout the plant in a timely and efficient manner, while ensuring safety and preventing damage. The individual in this role will also be responsible for loading and staging press lines with the correct materials to ensure an accurate and smooth production flow.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate a forklift in a fast-paced production setting and comply with safety policies.
Maintain stock levels on press lines with required materials in an organized and timely manner to ensure production flows according to schedule.
Ensure finished goods are scanned into the system and transferred to the correct warehouse location.
Stack finished goods properly to maximize warehouse space and prevent damage to other goods.
Clear and empty scrap bins/skids throughout the day, and ensure they are emptied at the end of each shift.
Collaborate effectively with other forklift operators and warehouse team members to achieve operational goals.
Adhere to safety policies and quality standards at all times.
Conduct and document a forklift inspection before each shift and when operating a new forklift, submitting maintenance work orders as needed.
Remove finished goods from machines and maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
Job Qualifications
Prior experience in a corrugated industry is preferred.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Availability to work Monday - Saturday.
Ability to read, write, communicate efficiently, and follow instructions on factory masters.
Proficiency in reading a tape measure with speed and accuracy and calculating figures and amounts such as percentages, measurements, volume, and rate.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to safety and quality procedures.
Must be able to work effectively in a team setting.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, or hear.
Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Required to sit for long periods.

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
