Wage Rate : $16.00/hour

About This Position
The Food Service Worker will be stationed in a Jail/Correctional Facility, working on a shift of 1am-9am. The role requires close contact and interaction with inmates.
The Food Service Worker accurately and efficiently prepares and serves a variety of food items in accordance with work instructions and menus in a correctional setting, using a range of utensils and machines.

Responsibilities
Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions in a timely manner.
Clean as you go, maintain a neat and food‑safe workstation, pull trash, sweep, mop, and perform any other assigned tasks within the facility.
Serve food during planned meal schedules and in accordance with department policies and procedures.
Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food according to recipes.
Abide by all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation, handling, and storage.
Maintain a clean work area, including refrigerators, freezers, cooking equipment, and serving equipment.
Function in a fast‑paced environment while staying organized and clean.
Keep up with garbage collection and prevent food/trash build‑up on kitchen floors.
Perform physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods.
Stand and be on your feet for a significant portion of the shift.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent, and must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred:
Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is a plus
