Lead Preschool Teacher
to join our Early Childhood faculty. This engaging and nurturing educator will lead our
three-day Preschool program (Wednesday–Friday)
and play a meaningful role in our school community.
This is a
part-time, permanent position
beginning in the
2026–2027 school year
, and includes participation in Faculty and Committee meetings. We are seeking a
Waldorf-trained and experienced teacher
who can thoughtfully offer this important gateway program for young children and their families.

Prepare the classroom for the new school year
Plan and present well-prepared, developmentally appropriate lessons daily
Maintain a clean, orderly, and nurturing classroom environment
Purchase food and classroom supplies as needed
Prepare the class for participation in seasonal festivals
Organize and conduct appropriate celebrations of seasonal festivals
Present a minimum of four parent evenings per year (one in conjunction with the full Early Childhood Program)
Conduct at least two parent conferences annually with each family; additional conferences as needed
Maintain written records of student attendance, progress, and parent conferences
Collaborate with the Enrollment Office and participate in the school intake process
Attend daily Faculty Opening at 8:05 AM
Attend weekly Faculty Meetings on Thursdays, 4:00–6:00 PM
Carry out administrative duties as assigned by Faculty
Maintain professional conduct and appearance
Participate in at least one off-site public outreach event annually, as needed
Conduct a minimum of two on-site outreach or informational events annually (e.g., Morning Roses)
Attend agreed-upon school events, including festivals, Open House, fundraising and outreach events, Board/Faculty retreats, and the Annual Corporate Meeting
Meet at least weekly with a mentor, as outlined in the Faculty Development Plan or required by the College of Teachers
Attend the February Teacher Conference (or ECP equivalent) and summer professional development
Complete one Waldorf education workshop annually in preparation for the following year’s curriculum
Ensure the classroom is clean and ready for use for the following school year by June 30
Prepare and submit to the College of Teachers by the first day of August:
Class description
Parent meeting dates (coordinated with other teachers during August meetings)
Fulfill all additional responsibilities outlined in the Employment Contract Addendum
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Waldorf teacher training
Prior teaching experience
Commitment to Anthroposophy, Waldorf pedagogy, and the social ideals of the Waldorf education movement
Strong communication skills with both children and adults
Flexibility, sense of humor, warmth of soul and spirit
Physical and emotional stamina
Requirements
This position is within a licensed Early Childhood facility. All Community Care Licensing (CCL) requirements apply, including a minimum of 12 core semester units in Child Development.
Salary & Benefits:
$29,000 – $32,000 annually, DOE
Benefits include annual salary increments for experience, additional compensation for completed Waldorf training, ongoing mentoring and professional development, and tuition remission for qualified children.
