Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Inbound Operations Management
Supervise daily receiving activities including trailer check-in, unloading, verification, and put away.
Ensure compliance with receiving SOPs and FEFO rotation requirements.
Validate inbound documentation including bills of lading, temperature logs, counts, and product condition.
Coordinate dock scheduling and manage workflow to prevent congestion and delays.
Inventory Accuracy & Documentation Control
Ensure accurate receipt entry into the WMS and resolve discrepancies quickly.
Oversee cycle count support, reconciliation, and root cause analysis of variances.
Partner with supply planning and quality teams to maintain product integrity and accuracy.
Cold Chain, Safety & Quality Compliance
Ensure inbound shipments meet all temperature, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
Lead inspection routines including temperature checks, seal verification, and product quality reviews.
Support OSHA compliance, equipment safety checks, and incident investigations.
Provide daily supervision, coaching, and development for receiving associates and equipment operators.
Allocate labor based on inbound volume and operational priorities.
Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Cross Functional Collaboration
Partner with transportation to manage dock appointments and carrier performance.
Collaborate with inventory control and quality assurance on exceptions, rejections, or damaged goods.
Communicate inbound status, performance results, and operational updates to leadership.
Qualifications
3+ years of warehouse receiving or distribution experience; frozen food experience preferred.
Strong understanding of cold chain management, receiving best practices, and food safety requirements.
Supervisory experience leading hourly staff.
Experience with WMS, ERP, and inventory accuracy tools.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
