Job Title
Distribution Design Engineering I

Position Overview
This position is responsible for planning, engineering, and designing electric and gas distribution systems. The role involves determining the need, size, location, and timing of power delivery infrastructure development to balance economic, environmental, social, and regulatory constraints, along with reliability needs.

Responsibilities

Develop work packages for overhead, underground, and residential distribution systems.

Conduct field engineering for project requirements and identify conflicting utilities.

Perform engineering and design calculations.

Participate in post‑construction reviews to ensure compliance and effectiveness.

Essential Skills

Basic knowledge and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts in a narrow technical domain.

Capability to solve simple, routine technical problems by following established procedures and policies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.

Less than 1 year of prior relevant experience.

Typical Day
10%-20% Field Inspections

60%-80% Engineering and development of design packages for construction crews

10% Performing administrative tasks, planning, and/or customer follow‑up

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
