Safety Technician I

Job Summary

In the role of Safety Tech, you will work closely with the EHS site leader and specialists and cross-functional teams throughout the facility. The Safety Tech is responsible for shift-specific environmental, health, and safety functions to prevent workplace accidents and promote health and safety awareness and education to fellow employees at the manufacturing site.

Hours:

5:00am-3:00pm Monday-Thursday

Pay Rate:

$20.60 per hour

Responsibilities

Engage in floor safety needs such as incident response, safety coaching (limited), PPE distribution, ergonomic assessments, safety audits, pre‑pros for altered products and or new product.

Facilitate new hire orientation.

Collect environmental compliance data as directing including but not limited to air monitoring, filter performance readings, and hazardous waste inspections.

Monitor and archive inspection supplies for all in‑house powered industrial trucks (PITs).

Be the primary contact for Environmental, Health and Safety issues and/or concerns on the production floor.

Post new emergency procedures, update SDS files, archive incident reports, and training documentation.

Assist in emergency response(s) and communication.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.

6 months experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Demonstrate an understanding of corporate environmental, health and safety policies.

Proven knowledge of safety equipment and standards.

Demonstrated ability to influence teams and individuals across multiple functions within the organization.

Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrate the ability to understand OSHA, EPA, WDNR, DOT and local regulations.

Public speaking skills.
