High School Student Services Coordinator (K-12)

Position Summary
Westborough Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Student Services Coordinator to join the High School administrative team beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. The coordinator will act as a bridge between staff, families, and administration, ensuring students receive necessary support to access their education and progress.

Responsibilities

Provide direct staff supervision alongside the Building Principal.

Champion the IEP Team process and ensure full compliance with IDEA and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

Facilitate productive, solutions-oriented conversations with staff and families.

Design and support creative, responsive programming to meet diverse student needs.

Expertly manage complex matters with professionalism and sound judgment.

Cultivate strong, positive connections with all stakeholders to create a unified support system for student success.

Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.

MA DESE licensure in Special Education Administration.

Minimum of three years as a Student Services Coordinator or Team Chair preferred.

Conditional appointment based on satisfactory CORI, SORI, and SAFIS background checks.

Specialized knowledge of IEP processes, special education regulations, child development, curriculum frameworks, inclusive practices, cultural proficiency, anti-bias instruction, co‑teaching, social‑emotional learning, and technology integration.

Experience

Facilitate IEP meetings, ensuring collaborative team decision‑making, family engagement, and compliance with IDEA requirements and procedural timelines.

Ensure compliance with IDEA and Massachusetts special education regulations, including IEP development, implementation, documentation, and BSEA processes.

Create and oversee special education programming for students with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and learning needs.

Promote inclusive practices aligned with Least Restrictive Environment principles through strategic programming, scheduling, and staffing decisions.

Supervise and evaluate staff to support instructional effectiveness, compliance, and program quality.

Support Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to improve academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional outcomes.

Use student data to inform programming, placement, and intervention decisions.

Collaborate with families, educators, and related service providers to support student needs and educational planning.

Skills

Strong knowledge of special education law, compliance, and procedural safeguards.

Proficient in ESPED, student information systems, and Google Workspace.

Data‑driven problem solving and decision‑making.

Clear and effective communication with diverse stakeholders.

Strong organization and ability to manage multiple priorities in fast‑paced environments.

Instructional leadership grounded in current research and best practices.

Ability to lead change and build staff capacity.

Central Functions of the Job

Create and maintain a supportive, inclusive learning environment that reflects student diversity and promotes equitable access in the Least Restrictive Environment.

Lead and facilitate IEP meetings, ensuring effective collaboration with families and staff and maintaining accurate, timely documentation and compliance requirements.

Ensure compliance with IDEA and Massachusetts special education regulations, including procedural timelines and documentation requirements.

Monitor and support IEP implementation in collaboration with school leaders and staff to ensure access to curriculum through differentiated instruction and assessment.

Collaborate with building leadership to develop master schedules and student placements aligned with LRE requirements.

Promote and support effective co‑teaching practices and strengthen collaboration between general and special education staff.

Collaborate with district‑wide Student Services Coordinators to ensure alignment of processes, procedures, and programming across schools to promote consistency and continuity of services.

Stay current with changes in special education law, regulations, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and effective implementation.

Use student data to inform programming, placement, and intervention decisions.

Plan and facilitate professional development to support instructional practice, inclusion, and compliance, including licensure requirements.

Participate in school‑based and district‑wide committees to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with families, staff, and community partners.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
The Student Services Coordinator has supervisory responsibilities for special education teachers, educational support professionals, related service providers, and other staff as assigned in conjunction with the building Principal. The coordinator evaluates all special education teachers in collaboration with the principal.

Salary and Benefits
Salary and benefits, for permanent benefits‑eligible staff, are per the contract between the Westborough School Committee and the Westborough Administrators.
