Business Development Manager
Infosys Public Services is seeking an experienced Business Development Executive to drive growth in the North Carolina market. This role is responsible for securing new clients and expanding existing accounts by sourcing, qualifying, and winning new contracts with public sector clients across North Carolina in areas such as technology consulting, systems integration, and managed IT services.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with Sales, Pre‑Sales, and Delivery teams to build pipeline, craft proposals, and advance pursuits.
Bring an established professional network among the NC client community, strong communication skills, knowledge of NC procurement and acquisition processes, and the ability to articulate value through differentiated IT services and solutions.
Identify, qualify, and advance opportunities with NC agencies through direct client engagement, research, networking, and leveraging Infosys industry partnerships.
Maintain an accurate and progressive pipeline in CRM, track progress toward sales targets, and report on performance metrics.
Coordinate with Pre‑Sales / Solution Architects to produce win themes, solution narratives, and pricing inputs.
Assist in RFx response management, compliance checks, and proposal production; lead oral presentations and client demos with relevant SMEs across Infosys.
Establish client relationships built on trust and expertise, leveraging Infosys capabilities to understand client business requirements, program operations, and mission objectives.
Work with IPS Marketing and Alliances team to raise IPS profile in the NC market through effective participation in and sponsorship of relevant industry/sector conferences and similar opportunities.
Analyze NC public sector industry trends, competitors, partners, and procurements to ensure IPS bids are compliant, compelling, and competitive.
Work cross‑functionally with Sales and Delivery on pursuit reviews, risk assessments, and approvals.
Contribute to account planning and quarterly business reviews; mentor junior analysts/coordinators (no formal people management).
Required Qualifications
Experience
7+ years of professional experience in technology services business development for the North Carolina public sector market.
Experience in IT consulting and systems integration (client account selling vs. transaction/product selling).
Hands‑on experience supporting the capture and closure of enterprise deals; contributions to closing $10M+ opportunities (multiple pursuits preferred).
Proven ability to manage sales quotas, document sales performance metrics, and support pipeline health.
Domain & Technical Knowledge
Expert knowledge of State & Local Government procurement, RFx responses, and the North Carolina public sector acquisition lifecycle.
Familiarity with at least one priority vertical: HHS, ERP (Oracle/PeopleSoft, SAP), CIO Services, Transportation.
Understanding of IT project life cycles in areas such as Cloud, AI, custom software development, and ability to position services confidently.
Skills
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills; fluent in English.
Strong business acumen and proficiency with public sector IT services terminology.
Demonstrated capability in negotiation support, contract coordination, and partner alignment.
Educational Requirements
A bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution. Three years of progressive, relevant work experience may be considered instead of every year of education. Candidates who have completed a Master’s degree program are strongly preferred.
Estimated annual compensation range for this role will be as follows:
In CA, WA, NY, CO, MD, IL, MN, NJ, VT, MA, Washington DC: $100,000 to $187,000.
